Bravo’s latest fashion-centric reality show, The Fashion Show Ultimate Collection, is housing an Iranian designer this season!

And her name is Golnessa Farmanara.

“My ultimate dream is to have a show in Iran.” Says the 28 year-old, who was born and raised in Iran until the age of 12

“I first realized I needed to be in fashion from a very very early age, my dad is in textiles, so I’ve always had fabrics around me to play with.”

Golnessa who now lives in Los Angeles, California has a “passion for art, photography, painting and sketching” and that led to her to pursue her Bachelors in Fashion Design at Woodbury University in Burbank, California.

Maintaining Persian overachiever standards, after obtaining her degree, Golnessa attended Polimoda University in Italy and obtained her Advanced Masters degree in Fashion Design. Since graduating, she has assisted in styling some high profile music artists.

She also works as the assistant designer to couture gown company, Deanzign, and part-time as a visual merchandiser/fashion coordinator for Davaco.

Golnessa’s Iranian heritage is reflected in the vivid designs her culture encompasses.

“I get inspired a lot by my culture, the women of iran and the [architecture] of Iran [inspire me].” Adds the petite designer who describes her own personal style as, “elegant but sexy”.

Currently, Golnessa is the co-owner of her label “Goci” which she started with her business partner and fellow Fashion Show contestant, Cindy Ayvar.

The winner of The Fashion Show will receive a editorial feature in Harper’s Bazaar 100K from Tresemme.
