If the evidence piles up (literally) you have to take it seriously. As far Dr. Zahi Hawass, whom I believe to at the top in his field, you have to factor in ego. Since this would be such a huge discovery and to not be involved in this dig, it would be a blow to anybody's ego. I wish them luck on their dig I think this should be a “wait & see” approach. After three "look-sees" to the remote site, followed by six continuous months in the Great Sand Sea, I certainly know what desert sandstorms can do. I took one look at the pile of alleged bones the Castiglioni brothers had photographed and came to the conclusion that their claims were mostly likely a hoax.
